Welcome to this space!
Hi! I’m Julián Alvarado, I’m 23 but everyone calls me Cucho. What is Cucho? It’s kind of like calling someone “the old man” in Colombia even though I’m still young.
And from now on, I’ll be your trusted entry level guy.
Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about how the professional world can feel pretty scary. Honestly, we’re never truly prepared for adult life, school and university don’t really teach us how to take that first big (and sometimes terrifying) step.
But that’s exactly why I’m here: to share my experience, so you don’t feel alone while taking your first steps into the corporate world.
I recently started working at Trendin, and working from home has been a unique opportunity especially for someone like me who doesn’t leave his cave very often. But remote work also requires real dedication.
Committing fully was a turning point. With the support of mentors and exposure to real marketing and publicity work, I overcame doubts about my future and gained the drive to keep growing and expanding my skills.
But hold up, speedster adapting to this new phase is a process. Something that scared me at first was how quickly I’d be able to learn and whether I’d actually fit in. As a shy person, I was overwhelmed with doubts to the point where sending a simple WhatsApp message drained more energy and time than it should’ve.
Now I get it:
“It’s normal to make mistakes and actually, it’s necessary. Mistakes keep us humble. Just remember: if you’re well prepared and know what you’re talking about, don’t overthink it too much. Just watch your spelling… and your words.”
If you feel like nothing’s going right in your first few days at work that’s normal.
Welcome to adulting. Sooner or later, you’ll realize not every day is easy, not every day you’ll feel happy or motivated. But here’s the truth:
You’re in control of your professional life.
You’re the one who decides to study, grow, and improve your work conditions. You’re the one who decides to show up and give your best and that, my friend, is something only you can control.
Regards, 🙈
Cucho
